Melanie Mullen

Visiting Teacher – Moksha, Moksha Flow, Slow Flow, Yang Yin, Yin

Melanie was often found hanging upside down in her closet as a small child, so obviously she was destined for yoga. She grew up working with her family at Mullen Garden Market in Niagara Falls. Yoga helped sustain, balance and embolden her during her years as an environmental activist and later as an environmental engineer, working with the United Nations, green think tanks and environmental organizations all around the world. When Melanie spoke at the UN Climate Change Conferences in Bali, Copenhagen, Cancun, Rio, Durban & Qatar, she met and subsequently studied with His Holiness Shri Shri Soham Baba, a spiritual leader of the great Himalayan Masters and a neuro-surgeon, who put into perspective the harmonious interconnectivity of science and meditation. She then began to realize, that through yoga, a more personal way to help support the greater global health was possible. Melanie then committed to yoga teacher training, completing certifications in Moksha, Flow, Yin, Yoga Medicine, Core Functional Anatomy, and Embodiment. Whether it be teaching actors on film sets, musicians on tour or students at the studio, Melanie focuses on connecting you to your own creative & joyful potential through breath, movement, and body awareness. With a profound understanding of neuroscience & anatomy, Melanie helps you connect with your body, enabling you to boost your emotional immune system. In her class you experience the intricate dance between being abundantly alive and deeply intimate. (Oh and a little nerdy brain science too!) While hosting her most recent Yoga & Embodiment retreat in Bali, Melanie was blessed to learn she would soon take on her most exciting adventure yet: becoming a mom.
